13:45. Lorenzo had to go to work again
(geesh), so I thought I'd go to Milan for
the day. Here's just outside the main
station.
13:50. A house of no particular significance.
13:55. The fountain outside a kind of castle thing.
13:56. Erm. A road.
14:03. There was a group of Japanese tourists, and
in a gratifying break with tradition, this girl
actually came and asked me if we could
have our picture taken together. Nice!
14:04. The castle thing.
14:06. Yep.
14:07. Wasn't really sure what I was looking at
to be honest...!
14:08. Still, it looks kind of nice anyway.
14:09. Very roman indeed.
14:10. A small group of feline tourists.
14:12. More castle bits.
14:13. The fountain from earlier.
14:27. I thought while I was there I ought to
take a look at the Duomo. This is on the
way.
14:30. That's the Duomo then. Not quite Firenze,
but, well, what do you expect...
14:38. Across the big square the Duomo is in.
14:38. Nice buildings here.
14:39. Well I suppose it is kind of impressive in its
own way.
16:53. Here I am back at the station near Lorenzo's
again after my flying visit to Milan.
20:30. Sky over a supermarket car park.
20:30. Lorenzo loads in the goods.
21:44. In the evening, we went to a pizzeria in Varese
and had some of the best pizza and pasta either
of us has ever had. This here is the
compozisione (no idea how to spell that)
vegetariano, and it was absolutely delicious.
21:46. Lorenzo demonstrating just how delicious it
was. The pizza which followed this was also
quite superb.
23:09. The front of the pizzeria. Unfortunately I couldn't
quite get the name, but if you're ever in Varese,
be sure to hunt it out.
23:49. Poignantly, we went to an "English" pub
after the meal.
23:49. Me and Lorenzo take it in turns to be typically
English. Hmmmm.
23:58. The barmaid, who was a lot better looking
than this pictures makes out.
