Aged 24 at the time of the 1891 census, at which time she is living with her father, brothers, sisters and her two children on Jersey. Here her marital status appears to have been entered as single.

Her age is entered as 33 at the time of the 1901 census, at which time she is living with her sister and two children in Portsmouth. Her marital status seems to have originally been entered as S for single, then overwritten with M for married. However, she is entered as head of household, there seems to be no partner present, and moreover her children seem to have taken her surname.

Her birthplace is recorded in all four census entries as Ireland, with Queen's County also mentioned in the 1891.
