Charles Edward Jacobs and Jane Milner

Married 1889

An entry appears in the GRO indices for the marriage of a Jane Milner,  in Jul/Aug/Sep 1889 in Sheppey     Kent  (volume 2a page 1416). On the same page appears a Charles Edward Jacobs.

At the time of the 1891 census, the family are living at 7, Queen's Terrace, Minster.

At the time of the 1901 census, the family are living at 109 Invicata Road, Sheerness.

Husband:   Charles Edward Jacobs

Born: 1865
Died:
Father:
Mother:

Occupation: Carpet joiner
Aged 25 at the time of the 1891 census, his place of birth is entered as Kent, Whitstable, and his occupation carpet joiner (?).

Aged 35 at the time of the 1901 census, where his details are consistent with the earlier entry.

Wife:   Jane Milner

Born: 1866
Died:
Father: Mark Samuel Milliner
Mother: Sarah Rickwood

Jane only seems to appear with her parents in the 1871 census, aged 4. Her birthplace is recorded as Sheerness.

A Jane Milner, aged 14, appears in the 1881 census working as a servant (nurse?) in the household of Herbert Masters on 13 Alma Road in Minster. Here her place of birth is entered as Minster, but this may have just been assumed to be the same as the other household members.

Mark and Sarah's three daughters (Elizabeth, Jane and Florence) are referred to as Mrs. Hare, Mrs. Jacobs and Mrs. Phillips. So it appears Jane married a Mr. Jacobs.
