Her surname is a abit conjectural - from her sister who is seemingly unmarried.

Aged 56 at the time of the 1851 census, her place of birth is entered as Hartland, Devonshire. Her marital status is entered as "widow" and her occupation is washerwoman. Here she is the head of household.

Aged 77 at the time of the 1871 census, at which time she is living with her daughter and son-in-law. Her occupation is entered as "former laundry" and her birthplace recorded as "Devon, Hartland". Her marital status is entered as windowed.

Aged 23 at the time of the 1851 census, her place of birth is entered as  Bideford. Her occupation is entered as Labourer.

Aged 41 at the time of the 1871 census, at which time she is living with her sister, brother-in-law and mother. Her occupation is given as "French Hat Trimmer" and her place of birth Devon, Bideford. Her marital status is entered as unmarried.

Aged 19 at the time of the 1851 census, her place of birth is entered as  Bideford. Her occupation is entered as Milliner Ap(prentice?).

A "Johanna Hocking" appears aged 37 in the 1871 census. Her place of birth is consistent with later census entries, but other than that it is not certain whether this is in fact the same person.

Aged 47 at the time of the 1881 census, her birthplace is recorded as Bideford, Devon.

She does not appear in the 1891 census for some reason.

However, in the 1901 census, she does seem to appear again. Here her age is given as 68 and her place of birth again Bideford.
