Strawberry FayrePosted on 2015/07/05 16:49:24 (July 2015). [Thursday 25th June 2015]
Outside Ye Old Mitre last night I'd spotted a poster for the Strawberry Fayre in Ely Place today, and thinking that was the sort of thing Erika might like, I persuaded Chie to bring her down after nursery on the very handy train from Kentish Town to Farringdon. Erika surprisingly didn't actually seem all that keen on eating any strawberries there, but tried out a couple of the games and I think enjoyed the atmosphere - if nothing else it was a bit different from just going straight home from nursery.
The highlight of the evening for me was being able to sneak through the normally gates at the end of Ely Place to Bleeding Heart yard, a shortcut I'd often suspected existed but had never had the chance to try before.
I decided to visit an old haunt, Fabrizio, for a quick dinner before heading home - they do very nice homemade pasta there.
Got that very convenient train from Farringdon back to Kentish Town, and we were back home by 8:30, which is, give or take, Erika's bedtime, so I thought that worked out rather well.
