Went to the new flat today to meet a project manager (and the builder she worked with) who had been recommended through someone at work. Up until now we'd been more looking at just getting the various bits of work we wanted done separately - but it had started to dawn on me that despite our best efforts to keep the todo list as constrained as possible there were still rather a lot of odds and ends that really would be better having sorted out before we moved in. The thought of just being able to hand over that list to one person who could then coordinate it all was rather attractive.
