BrixtonPosted on 2013/11/15 22:31:15 (November 2013). [Friday 8th November 2013]
Chie and Erika came to my office for lunch which was jolly nice as always.
Mum came to stay for the weekend from today. She'd decided to go for a bit of a wander round Brixton market in the afternoon, so I thought it might be nice to meet her there for dinner. On the way there I caught a brief glimpse of the Pullman carriages used in the Orient Express in Victoria station, which I always find rather exciting.
We ate at Okan, an Okonomiyaki place, which I think we all agreed was pretty good. After that we went for a drink at the controversial Champagne + Fromage, at the centre of the recent "Yuppies Out" protest. Ironically I probably wouldn't have heard of it had it not been for that. I have to admit I was a bit less impressed by this place than the okonomiyaki place, somehow it just felt a bit soulless. Anyway, it was a fun evening regardless, and Mum seemed suitably impressed with Brixton market.
