Arriving in Devon

We got the train from London to Exeter in the morning, which was particularly pleasant as we upgraded to first class, and had almost an entire carriage to ourselves. We nibbled some of the leftovers from yesterday's afternoon tea, along with the complimentary tea from the buffet.

Dad and Janie came to pick us up at Exeter St. David's, and from there we drove to Newton St. Cyres for lunch at The Beer Engine, a pub which brews its own beer. I particularly liked their "Rail Ale" which was very easy to drink.

On the way back to Dad's house we popped in to visit Janie's Mum, who I haven't see for years. She was rather delighted to meet Erika.

In the evening Dad made a sort of middle eastern meal for dinner, including home made ful medames.
