New Year's Day

We headed down to Guildford this afternoon, to coincide with Dad and Janie visiting Adrian, Liz and the kids. It took slightly longer than we'd hoped it might to get there - we were in a bit of a rush at Vauxhall and managed to get the wrong train - so instead of heading for Clapham Junction we were bound in the opposite direction to Waterloo, just in time to miss the train we would have then changed on to, so we had to wait half an hour for the next. Oh well. It's the first time we've taken Erika to Guildford and I think we hadn't properly accounted for the additional time it takes to do anything when you have a baby in tow.

This was Janie's first time to meet Erika, and only Dad's second time. Unfortunately she was a bit unsettled today - maybe because of the late night last night - and partly a bit of reflux, so she seemed to start crying as soon as we gave her to anyone else to hold.
