[Friday 28th December 2012]
Mum and Keith arrived in London this afternoon, for their festive weekend visit. They came to the flat first to see Erika for a bit - actually this was Keith's first time to meet her - and then I walked them to their hotel to check them in etc.
I left them to it for the remainder of the afternoon, and then we met up again at 6pm to go for dinner at Brasserie Zedel, next to Piccadilly Circus. It just opened this year, in the space formerly occupied by the famous Atlantic Grill, and being a grand French brasserie I thought it was the sort of thing Mum would like. I was also keen to see the interior for myself. The decor was certainly impressive - a very high ceiling held up by grand columns, with a gilded ornamentation and a distinctly art deco feel. The food itself was a bit hit and miss, but the service was good, and I really enjoyed the bottle of Pol Roger we had, served in coupe glasses of which I thoroughly approve.
Erika was a little angel throughout as well, which made it all the more lovely, and had all the waiters cooing over her.
