Mulled Wine

Went along to TGIF for a little while, then headed home by way of the little Sainsbury's in Victoria station, wherein I picked up things for making macaroni cheese and - by special request from Chie - mulled wine.

I don't think I've ever really made mulled wine properly "from scratch" before - I've probably cheated and got a sachet of mixed spices for making mulled wine and just dump it in a pan of wine and warmed it up - but I've never individually added all the spices and other ingredients to the wine. So I have that a go this evening - red wine, sugar, bay leaves, a cinnamon stick, a vanilla pod, a whole nutmeg and a few cloves. We were quite pleased with the end result.
