PancakesPosted on 2008/02/18 22:10:56 (February 2008). [Wednesday 13th February]
I suppose this evening was a bit of a tip-of-the-hat to Valentine's Day, which both me and Chie seem to have gone off somewhat, for all its commercialism and everything. So we did the nice meal and the bottle of wine tonight instead as our very feeble way of rebelling against it.
I'd bought us a bottle of rose sparking wine (English!) and made some rather nice savoury pancakes for dinner - filled with Japanese mushrooms (shimeji and shiitake), spinach, blue cheese and capers. Very tasty!

Is it the commercialism or just it's more difficult to be romantic when you've known someone so many years?

St Valentine was an early English Christian martyr. However he got to be the parton saint of lovers I have no idea. This evening seems like a tip-of-the-hat to Pancake Day as well!
