Oriental FoodPosted on 2006/01/21 03:47:28 (January 2006). [Thursday 19th January]
Had another late meeting, but this was was not so late as the previous day's. Met up with Chie in Sasazuka on my way back home, and we went to the supermarket together to buy stuff for dinner. It occurred to me that we'd hardly cooked any kind of Oriental food (Japanese, Chinese etc) since being in our new flat - it had mostly been English or Italian. So tonight we made a haf Chinese, half Japanese meal, which all came out rather well. Started with agedashi tofu, then had a dish of chinese leaf stir fried with atsuage in a garlic/ginger/soy sauce. Finished off with sort of fake yaki niku - using the thin soy pieces we'd got from It's Vegetable a while back, and then cooked in a kind of yaki niku sauce with some vegetables. This was a particular surprise - really came out well.
