Beer, Curry, WhiskyPosted on 2005/02/25 09:42:35 (February 2005). [Thursday 24th February]
The girls went out to play pool somewhere, so I had a night off from my usual cooking duties. I took advantage of this opportunity to go for a couple of beers with Kev, after which we went and got a take away curry from Ali's. We rounded this off with a couple of choice whiskies - the SMWS Caol Ila (cask 53.89) and for a special treat a quick nip of the Fortnum and Mason Port Ellen.

I have to say at this point: "Good Man!" Sounds like you're a proper "Chap"! (Never doubted it!)Incidentally have you tried the "Chap" Magazine? I've just run a year's subscription and can recommend it for shear daftness. My own whiskey "collection" is rather paltry at the moment, consisting of a Laphroaig, Glen Morangie (12 I think - not 100%) and a Grants. No, wait, there's an "Oban" single malt as well. You can tell I only bring them out on special occasions! I've been a bit out of commission recently due to a car crash and associated whiplash/slipped disks etc but plan to re-aquaint myself once the pain-killers are done with! To be honest I'm moving away from the overly "peaty" flavours in favour of the refined "Chivas" type, but limited funds...
