There is an entry in the GRO indices for the marriage of an Elizabeth Barbara Rickwood in Oct/Nov/Dec 1871 in Sheppey Kent (volume 2a, page 1474). Also on this page appears a "Walter Axell".

One "Walter Axcell" also appears as a visitor in the family home in the 1871 census - this is almost certainly the same person.

At the time of the 1881 census the family are living at 10 Richmond Street, Minster, Sheppey.

Aged 22 at the time of the 1871 census, at which time he is entered as a visitor in the household of his future wife and parents-in-law. Here hisplace of birth Chatham, and his occupation Grocer. Here his surname appears to be spelt "Axcell".

In the GRO marriage indices entry his surname appears to have been entered as "Axell".

Aged 31 at the time of the 1881 census, his occupation is entered as grocer, and his birthplace Chatham.

There is an entry in the GRO indices for the birth of an Elizabeth Barbara Rickwood in Oct/Nov/Dec 1844 in Sheppey Kent (volume 5, page 443).

Aged 26 at the time of the 1871 census, unmarried and living with her parents. Her place of birth is entered as Kent Sheerness.

Aged 36 at the time of the 1881 census, with her place of birth entered as Kent Sheerness.
