First of all sorry for not updating but I have had several difficulties linked with my mum's computer blocking every 5 minutes due to a GPU failure. This prevented me from updating day by day, so I'll run a quick account of what I have done during this week. Basically I have been back to Florence, for a long awaited holiday. I must say that it has been very nice, as usual.
Saturday was the first day and I hooked up with Francesco, we spent a lot of time together considering that recently we hardly managed to see each other, mostly because he's always "busy". We went shopping for Stefano's birthday present, and I must say that the link between me and Francesco is superb, even if we don't get in touch a lot. We managed to cocnoct a series of presents starting from a crappy ones going up to the "real deal". We laughed all the afternoon about million things, he's one of my best friends and it's easy to understand each other in matter of seconds (I have a similar bond with few other people). Before the party we went to Villa Demidoff, a lovely place in the hills around Florence. Party time was late in the evening all went perfectly (as planned), Stefano liked the presents, the company was good and we all had a lot of laughs. Stefano was upset that I couldn't join for the reminder of the evening but I had to wake up early the next day...
Sunday featured a trip to the lake in the early morning to get some tan and some swimming. We had to pack quick in the early afternoon as the sun was blistering hot and we retreated to Florence to cool down. I went to see Matteo he explained me a lot of things about Linux and we managed to configure the sound card on my old mobile (I am now running Ubuntulinux on it).In the evening we went to see a group singing at the "Unity Fair" (left wing parties always organize such events). There was a band playing, called "Cialtroni Animati", basically they play all the songs that were part of our childhood, most of them linked to TV Serials and Cartoons. The evening was brilliant!
Monday was pretty relaxed, I started having a nasty headache, probably because my mind was letting off steam after the past 2 months which have been rather heavy on me. Basically did nothing all day, had dinner with mum and then tooke her to the station as she was leaving for the holidays.
Tuesday started with a day at the swimming pool, again Francesco was there, we spent a good 4 hours relaxing and swimming eventually clouds covered the sun and we were forced to retreat. In the evening we were again at the Unity Fair to watch "Jesus Christ Superstar" which was really nice.
Wednsday featured an "unexpected re-union" I infact went to see my dear friend Luca, we had lunch together and then we went out for dinner and a couple of beers in the evening. After that I went to see Stefano and we spent some time with Andrea in his place until 2ish.
Thursday was the last day, therefore started rather sad. In the evening Simone was having his birthday party, so I went buying some presents for him in the afternoon. I then packed up, closed the house and kissed Florence goodbye again. Stopped at Simone's for a cool party, and I really wished I didn0't have to go home as I was really liking it. At 12:30, a bit late for a Cindarella, my car was waiting for me, the usual 3,30 hours ride to Vedano.
All in all a great visit. Strenghtned my will to go back to Florence, as soon as possible, I really miss it, the more I stay three the harder is to leave, especially after such an eventful week. I am not happy where I am at the moment, after the holidays in France I will have to try harder to go back. My mental sanity is at stake.
