Tintern
Sunday 24th July 2022
Spent the afternoon in Tintern, which is not far from where we were staying in Brockweir, so we walked there and back. Met Bec, Dave and Louise for lunch in Tintern, and then a bit later on were joined by Jessica to. Back to Brockweir in the evening for a light supper of leftovers, then I went down to the river one last time and was treated to a surprisingly nice sunset.

Heading down towards the river now.

12:38:08
Thankfully the footbridge at Tintern was still open - there had been talk of closing it for repairs.

Our booking at the pub/hotel wasn't until 3:30 so we thought we'd have a light snack / coffee first.

14:02:14
While waiting for Bec, Dave and Louise to arrive we went for a quick look at Tintern Abbey.

We actually managed to get our table a bit before 3:30, so here we are with our Sunday roasts (and a burger for Erika).

17:09:17
Later on, in the garden of the pub/hotel, after Jessica also joined us.

17:09:34
I swapped places with Dave.

18:29:42
Sadly it was eventually time to say goodbye, and head back over the footbridge for the walk back to Brockweir.

18:35:45
Despite it being several hours before sunset the woods already had a slight sense of gloaming to them.

21:00:24
It was a bit grey by this point, and I wandered down to the river not expecting much by way of a sunset.

However after a while the skies did clear a little, and some pink clouds crept in...

The clouds were moving quite quickly so I thought it might make a nice timelapse.

I think this might be my favourite.
