I took the day off work and went for a walk and a wild camp on the Hampshire Downs.

From Hilaire Belloc's The Old Road, partly the inspiration for today's walk.

12:42:37
The Red House in Highclere where I started my walk, after lunch.

12:50:12
Taken by accident?

12:51:35
Unfortunately a hornet got into my pint.

The hornet swimming around.

12:55:20
My lunch.

13:33:37
Near the start of my walk was a bit of woodlan with an abundance of mushrooms. This I believe is the Red Cracking Bolete.

13:33:42
More of the same.

13:34:55
Something else, not a bolete given the gills.

14:24:13
Up on the Hampshire Downs now.

14:38:27

14:51:50
The sign for the path I was following had become detached from whatever post or tree it was originally affixed to.

14:52:36
I put it back where it seemed most logical.

15:44:40
I think this might be the start of the Wayfarer's Walk.

15:44:58
Some sheep on a hill.

Tonight's camping setup, in a hedge again. Actually managed to do this before dark for a change!

Cooking dinner - pasta with bolognese sauce.

19:15:47
Had a little fire with my Honey Stove later on for morale.
