I decided to treat myself to First Class today, and picked up a copy of the Daily Telegraph because it came with a free bottle of water in WH Smiths. As I sat there in my tweed suit it occurred to me I probably looked like a bit of a stereotype.

The church in Washington. Actually quite a pretty village.

I was on the alternative section of the South Downs Way which makes crossing the A23 easier.

Now starting to be treated to some nice views.

I was quite enjoying myself by this point, as hopefully illustrated here.

I was getting a bit peckish though.

Particularly impressive sweeping views around here as I started to begin the descent into Amberley.

On the outskirts of Amberley, I thought this house was rather nicely situated.

Entering Amberley now (or at least the bit near Amberley station), and so parted ways with the South Downs Way once again.

The Bridge Inn, where I was to have my post walk lunch. I was quite hungry by this point.

The fire in the Bridge Inn was very nice to see, although it was actually a relatively warm day outside.

On the train on the way back. From Gatwick Airport it was quite busy, but I had the First Class compartment all to myself.

Went for a stroll around Belgravia on arriving back in London.

Found my feet leading me to the Nags Head.

The interior happily hasn't changed, still looks lovely.
