This was a birthday present from my friend Al, and I am often in the mood for sparkling on a Friday evening, plus thought it would pair nicely with the macaroni cheese. There was some of that intense apple pie profile I'm used to from Hattingley, but a slightly surprising sort of bitterness to it. Perhaps a product of aging or some additional autolytic character?
