My favourite bench by the barrow, bathed in winter sun today. Appealing though it was though I felt a draw to the woods this afternoon.

I decided to sit in my favourite spot in the woods for a glass of good old East Meon Berrygarden.

I thought these bottle shots came out rather well with the woodland / sunset backdrop. A bit of a shame about the grubby label (my cellar's fault!).

Amazingly busy on top of Parliament Hill today - I hadn't seen it this packed in winter since the last time it snowed.

To follow on after the East Meon, some Domaine Joseph Roty Gevrey Chambertin 2012 of which I wrote: "Somehow demure but simulataneously refined, on the cusp of becoming one of those old furniture-esque GevChams, but not yet completely relinquishing its youth. Hugely drinkable, albeit perhaps not hugely memorable."

Andrew was very keen to come this afternoon/evening, but doesn't seem to be great at dealing with sitting out in the cold for extended periods. So he came prepared, and brought a sleeping bag with him.
