12:03:16 A parcel from Alpkit which arrived today - looked more like takeaway food packaging than camping equipment. | 12:06:46 The items I purchased from Alpkit - some gaiters (hoping in combination with my new walking boots I can finally solve the problem of wet feet from morning dew on day two of two day hikes), a new lighter weight bivvy bag, a piezo lighter, and some titanium tent pegs. | 12:27:11 Tried out the new bivvy bag - the "Kloke" from Alpkit. It's a bit better than the previous one because it's lighter weight (285g vs 500g), more compact and a more stealthy colour. | 12:47:09 My "winter" camping gear: sleeping bag, mat, bivvy bag and pillow. Pretty much all I need for sleeping outdoors - no tent required - with the sleeping bag having a comfort rating of 0 degrees, or a low rating of -5. In total this comes to about 2kg, and would just about fit in a supermarket carrier bag. |
12:49:46 The summer version, with my lightweight quilt, which comes to around 1.3kg. | 12:58:58 Trying on the gaiters. | 13:39:09 Spring crocuses on the way to the heath. | 14:37:21 In the woods. |
16:08:32 The top of Parliament Hill. | 16:09:02 Slightly mood sky over the London skyline. | 16:09:05 | 16:13:27 |
