Christmas Eve

Dragged the girls down to the Thames hoping for a festive stroll along the river, but it turned out to just be cold not much fun. So we cut our losses, headed home, and then surprisingly I managed to drag them out a second time for a walk to Hampstead Heath around sunset.

The beach at Bankside. Neither Chie nor Erika seemed particularly keen to stroll along it.

Fed up as I am of the endless cooking and washing up at home, I'd thought somewhat naively we could pick up a takeaway while we were out, not entirely thinking through the difficulties that would entail. Erika got really hungry almost as soon as we arrived at the Thames, so we had to settle for pretty much the first thing we saw that was open - the Leon behind the Tate Modern - and of course we then had to sit and eat outside. Overall it wasn't a particularly fun experience, alas.

To my surprise though despite the lack of success of the earlier outing the girls agreed to head out again for a walk on Hampstead Heath.

A couple of funny not very well composed pictures of Erika atop Parliament Hill.

An odd moment captured here.

It was cold again, but somehow this outing seemed more successful.

There was a nice atmosphere atop Parliament Hill for the brief time we were there.
