Tapping the Admiral
Sunday 14th August 2022
With the Pineapple closed for a few days, and nothing better planned this weekend, I decided to finally try out its sister pub (owned by the same people), The Tapping the Admiral. This was fortuitious in a way as they offer Sunday roasts (the Pineapple is always Thai food), although, nice though it was, it was realistically far too hot to be eating that kind of food. I seemed to be rather gluttonous this weekend, as I also had a takeaway pizza for dinner in the evening.

I felt lke a bloody mary, and brought along my own vegan worcester sauce just in case.

The vegetarian Sunday roast. The centrepiece there being a pie, filled with celeriac and mushroom if I recall correctly, and was actually pretty good. Overall very happy with this, but not at all an appropriate sort of food to be eating in 30 degree heat.

This mild was quite nice as well.

Given that hefty lunch, not to mention the 8 course meal I'd eaten for dinner yesterday, I really should have gone for something light for dinner this evening. But no, I seemed to want a pizza, so went to the nearby Indian/Italian fusion pizza place and picked up a massala margherita. For the record I only ate half of it, and saved the rest for lunch the next day.
