Tokyo to Hiroshima

Took the shinkansen from Tokyo to Hirohshima, where we were going to be spending the next few days with Chie's family.

| 10:43:30 This was the first time Chie's ever qualified for a Japan Rail Pass (they're not available to Japanese people unless they have certain types of visa in another country). Being both frugally minded and a closet train geek, she was very pleased about this, bless her. | 10:57:02 Not sure why this was necessary, but I thought I'd take a picture of the sign for Shinjuku as we were passing through. | 12:22:59 On the Shinkansen now, and here's my lunch - "veggie kara" from Bonraspail (a kind of health food shop in Shinjuku station we used to go to a lot as it had some vegetarian things) plus some maki and inari sushi. |
