Took Erika to visit the aquarium on Miyajima.
Japan May/June 2013
Erika in the kitchen with Ojiichan and Obaachan.
Potato chips in a vending machine. Not actually that interesting really.
I asked the vending machine engineers to recommend a can coffee and they suggested this.
Chie, Erika and Hirofumi-san on the train.
Me and Erika looking out the front of the train.
On Miyajima now - I don't think Chie actually realised this deer was this close!
Obligatory pictures with the famous umi no tori.
Quick picnic lunch at the aquarium.
In the little arena waiting for the sealion show. Erika is asleep!
The sealion show.
Various pictures of Erika looking at fish...
There's a spot with a fish tank you can get either side of, so you can take silly photos like this.
More pictures of Erika looking at fish.
...and back to the silly picture taking spot again.
I think this is a kind of puffer fish.
Me stuck in a crevace.
Back outside now, and it was low tide so we thought we'd walk across by the umi-no-tori.
We stopped off for a quick momiji manju at this shop which had a rather nice garden out the back.
...this is a bargain - 70 yen (46p!) per momiji manju, even if you eat in, and you get a free cup of green tea.
...we could also see the pagoda from the garden.
We popped in to say hello to Chie's aunt Chikako-san where she works. Apparently her colleagues pictured here have read my blog!
On the Hiroden tram from Miyajimaguchi to go and visit Sato-chan.
Chie, Erika, Satochan and Kohe-kun.
Erika keeping an eye on Kohe-kun.
Me, Erika, Sato-chan and Kohe-kun.
Back at home, Erika and Ojiichan watching TV.
Green tofu which we'd picked up at a tofu shop next to Takasu station.
Ojiichan feeding Erika.
The tofu with some soy sauce and spring onions.
A kind of mushroom, a bit like erengi.
