Kanako's Wedding
Sunday 20th March 2016
In many ways the main event of this trip to Japan (and my last full day) - Kanako's wedding.

Outside the wedding venue - Jiyugakuen Myonichikan - a Frank Lloyd Wright designed building which was originally a school, near Ikebukuro in Tokyo.

10:36:35
Me and Erika outside the venue.

11:17:21
During the (thankfully short) ceremony.

11:31:02
The balloon release after the ceremony - some of them got caught in the trees here.

11:34:54
Erika, Chie and two of Chie's friends from her university days - Junchan and Hiromuchan.

11:59:39
The happy couple. I like how they're flanked by the venue staff hre, who look a bit like they're working for the secret service.

12:16:27
The venue had these rather smart plates with the window from the hall where the ceremony was held as a logo.

12:16:37
Close up on the logo.

12:26:21
Cutting the cake.

12:26:24
All the guests taking photos of the cake being cut.

As Kanako's new husband was a fireman, some of his colleagues performed a sort of skit at the end of the meal.

13:35:52
I didn't really understand what was going on but I got the impression it was quite funny.

13:35:55

13:47:16
A sort of alternative version of tossing the bouquet involving ribbons.

13:56:36
The three of us and Kanako.

14:44:04
Erika made a new friend at the wedding.

14:44:08

14:44:12
The two of them look really cute together in their pink and blue dresses.

14:49:11
The sign says keep off the grass.

Later on in the evening I rather ill advisedly went to this hipster American pizza place in Shibuya.
