Erika's first visit to Miyajima, and first time to meet a lot of the Morwaki family.
Japan March 2013
Erika wrangling Gladys in the morning.
Ogeechan and Erika playing with the entry phone.
On the way to the station, somebody's garden.
At the station. Me indulging my strange obsession with can coffee.
On the ferry to Miyajima.
In the shopping street on Miyajima.
Yuko-san, who we met last year when she came to London with two of Chie's aunts last year - she works in one of the omiyage shops in Miyajima, so we popped in to say hello.
...that picture again with Erika in shop.
Green tea and some very fresh momiji-manju in Yuko-san's shop.
From the beach on Miyajima we could see Ginga, the ship we had our wedding reception on.
Close up on Ginga.
Recreating one of our wedding photos, plus Erika.
A quick picnic.
An improvised hat for Erika, it was unexpectedly sunny.
Erika meeting her Great Grandmother for the first time. She was a big hit!
Moriwaki family picture.
Next stop on our Moriwaki family crawl was to visit Masaru-san and Reiko-san, Chie's uncle and aunt, at their house / oyster processing factory (!). Here in shot is also one of Erika's second cousins Rin-chan.
...and another of Erika's second's cousins Mio-chan.
Apparently Chie had also sat on this chair as a child.
Masaru-san is the oldest brother in the family, so I suppose that makes this Moriwaki headquarters.
Heading for the ferry back to the mainland.
A few pictures from the ferry on the way back.
Our third stop on our family tour, another of Chie's uncles and aunts - Kazuyoshi-san and Naoki-san, who had their daguhter Sato-chan, her husband Yamasaki-san and their newborn baby Kohe-kun staying with them.
So here's Erika meeting another of her second cousins, Kohe-kun.
Erika seemed quite fascinated by him.
Me and Yamasaki-san with our respective babies.
