Miyajima
Tuesday 6th June 2017
Chie was busy with her Dad at the hospital for the day, so I took Erika to Miyajima to visit the aquarium.

Me and Erika on the train on the way to Miyajima.

10:56:41
Me and Erika on the ferry across to Miyajima.

11:19:20
Erika watching the fish in the little courtyard garden inside my favourite momiji-manju place: Fuji-ya.

11:24:00
In Fuji-ya, me with my "yakitate" (freshly baked) momiji-manju, and Erika with her chocolate momiji-manju.

11:24:44
My yakitate momoji-manju and some tea.

11:36:21
Walking past the famous umi-no-tori with Erika on my shoulders. The tide was out today so we could take a short cut to the aquarium across the beach.

11:36:36
A few more pictures of the umi-no-tori.

11:36:40

11:39:50

12:08:13
In the aquarium now.

12:09:27

12:10:11
Oysters and some little sharks in here. Erika wants to point out that I was sitting down here (not sure why that's important?).

12:15:59
The narrow tank you can stand either side of to try and take a picture as though the person on the other side is underwater... However given the height difference you can see the sort of shelf here and it doesn't quite work.

12:16:05

12:16:26
Erika being a mermaid.

12:16:39
Erika doing the Yellow Submarine actions.

12:16:45

12:27:58
Having our lunch on the benches outside the aquarium.

13:01:57
The sealion show. One of them is called Kurumi-chan, can't remember the other names. Erika would like one of them to be called Erika, and the other Elsa.

14:01:07
The umi-no-tori again on the way back towards the ferry, the tide was still out.

14:01:24
Erika on my shoulders again.

14:16:36
Erika and a sort of stone/marble Hello Kitty.

14:17:10
The Hello Kitty momiji-manju. Unfortunately we'd already bought a box from Fuji-ya or I might have got one of these.

15:02:43
On the train on the way back, Erika did some drawing. I was very impressed wth this face.

15:04:57
She later added some hair.

19:13:12
Back at Chie's parent's house, here's a can of "Gent Off" which amused me.
