Saturday in Devon
Saturday 19th September 2020
Made cider in the morning. Afternoon in Teignmouth, then back to Dad's house for a barbecue for dinner, followed by me and Erika camping out in the garden.
Devon September 2020
The sky this morning when I woke up.
The apples ready for this morning's pressing.
A lobster pot.
Breakfast is served!
Erika having an al fresco breakfast.
The garden room seen through part of the garden.
I went out to check the car, and had a quick stroll along the waterfront.
I brought along one token apple from the tree in our garden in London to add to the batch of cider.
Me cutting up apples.
Dad putting the cut up apple pieces into the scrobbler.
Erika doing a post scrobbbling mash.
Dad feeding the scrobbled / mashed apples into the press.
The press, with some juice starting to run off.
Erika having a go on the press.
In Teignmouth now. Some cruise ships were moored out in the bay. This is the Cunard Queen Mary 2 apparently.
Chie and Erika walking along the seafront at Teignmouth.
Lunch on the beach at Teignmouth. Fish and chips and pasties.
...and drinks from the Ship Inn.
Erika feeding jess some leftovers.
The boats on the back beach at Teignmouth.
The cruise ships again.
Erika looking for rocks on the beach.
Back at Dad's house now, and Erika and I had decided to try camping tonight, so I spent a while setting up the tent...
...and then far longer messing around with a tarp to cover over the top of the tent, because the tent wasn't very waterproof.
Much later I think this was the final configuration of the tarp.
I brought a bottle of Chatea Musar 2000, which was fortuitous as it turned out Dad was planning a sort of Mediterranean meal this evening - perhaps more Greek than Lebanese but close enough!
Me and Erika at dinner in the garden, with Dad tending to the barbecue in the background.
Everybody busy eating.
It was nice enough weather to stay sitting outside even after it got dark.
Me and Erika before we went off to sleep in the tent!
