On the Eurostar now just before leaving St. Pancras, with a not-very-glamorous sandwich from Marks and Spencer.

Me on the train doing a bit of a startled rabbit impression - I guess this is somewhere in France (French times from here on!).

After arriving and dropping off our bags at our hotel (next to the Gare de Lyon) we went for a quick early evening stroll along the Seine.

Le Train Bleu - yes somewhat incongruously we were going to eat at the station buffet.

As is hopefully apparent, Le Train Bleu is somewhat more upmarket than your typical station buffet.

My starter - scrambled eggs with black truffle.

My main course: "the vegetarian option" (this was utter crap).

It seemed appropriate to have a "Train Bleu" cocktail while I was there. It was not very nice.
