London to Poole to Jersey
Sunday 17th July 2011
First day of our holiday, got the train to Poole in the morning, lunch at the Poole Arms, then a very rough crossing to Jersey in the afternoon. In the evening dinner at Casa Velha (a Portuguese restaurant in St. Helier) and stayed at the Royal Yacht Hotel.

The Poole Arms, Poole's oldest pub, dating back to 1635. We stopped for lunch here before catching the ferry.

By this point we were nearing Jersey - I understand this ferry normally approaches on the other side of Jersey, but they decided to change course because of the rough weather.
