Saturday 18th June - Wednesday 29th June. A week and a bit staying with Dad in North Wales.

Saturday 18 June
15:18
Right, I'm now on the train on the way to North Wales. This is somewhere on the coast, before Barmouth I think.

Saturday 18 June
15:35
Some rocks getting in the way here.

Saturday 18 June
15:37
A little further up the line, a bit of beach and more sea.

Saturday 18 June
15:46
I think that is Barmouth in the distance there - not sure though.

Saturday 18 June
15:46
It was a very hot day - looks almost tropical!

Saturday 18 June
15:47
....errr same again.

Saturday 18 June
15:56
This is just as we were pulling in to Barmouth.

Saturday 18 June
15:57
I was trying to get a picture of the railway bridge we'd just been over - it goes over a bit of sea and as a closet bridge nerd I found it quite exciting.

Saturday 18 June
19:28
A while later on, after completing my journey and meeting up with my Dad... randomly a picture of a field full of cows!

Saturday 18 June
20:17
Up on the hill above Aberdaron. We'd come here to watch some ships sail round the point (the three peaks challenge or something) but actually they were a bit behind schedule, so in classic nautical style we were forced to observe "I see no ships".

Saturday 18 June
20:17
We did however, fill in the time with some chips and Guinness - absolutely lovely.

Saturday 18 June
20:21
Superbly from here there is a great view of Bardsey, which I deemed necessary to spoil by daftly placing some chips in the foreground. It seemed like a good idea at the time.

Saturday 18 June
20:27
Dad, with a can of Guinness in hand, and Bardsey in the background.

Saturday 18 June
20:59
A seagull and the moon - actually I quite like this picture.

Saturday 18 June
21:09
Here's Yates, with a very washed out sky behind him.

Saturday 18 June
21:29
Some nice looking clouds.

Saturday 18 June
21:36
A view across Bardsey, featuring a glimpse of the moon.

Sunday 19 June
17:06
On the beach near Dad's house - Dad and Yates playing fetch.

Sunday 19 June
17:06
Rather pleased with this - an action shot with both Dad and Yates in motion, and the stick in mid-air.

Sunday 19 June
17:07
Yates splashing about going after the stick.

Sunday 19 June
17:07
The retriever half of Yates' make-up doing its job.

Sunday 19 June
17:11
Dad attempting to wrestle the stick off Yates.

Sunday 19 June
17:12
Yates bounding into the sea.

Sunday 19 June
17:22
Yates retrieving again.

Sunday 19 June
17:22
Yates emerging from the waves.

Sunday 19 June
17:22
Yates after a good shake, with the stick on the beach.

Sunday 19 June
17:32
Yates, again really.

Sunday 19 June
17:32
Yates, making very sure the stick doesn't go anywhere.

Sunday 19 June
17:32
Dad rather sneakily grabbing the stick from Yates.

Sunday 19 June
17:33
Yates keeps guard.

Sunday 19 June
21:58
A picture of the sunset, taking whilst sitting out on Dad's balcony enjoying a spot of Longrow.

Sunday 19 June
21:58
...these sorts of pictures never look exactly the same as it does to the naked eye...

Sunday 19 June
21:59
...you could hear the sea from here as well tonight, which was really nice.

Sunday 19 June
21:59
As nice as this tree is, it did seem to obscure the view of the sunset a bit.

Sunday 19 June
22:01
This is taken from the window at the side of the house, and thus avoiding the rather inconsiderate tree.

Sunday 19 June
22:04
Another one from the window at the side.

Sunday 19 June
22:04
...and another.

Sunday 19 June
22:08
Back on the balcony now - I had forgotten just how good Longrow tasted....

Sunday 19 June
22:08
Mmmm... Longrow...

Sunday 19 June
22:11
Some birds were flying overhead, but the picture didn't really come out.

Sunday 19 June
22:11
One last picture of the sky, which kept changing, shortly before I decided to go inside as it was starting to get a tad parky!

Monday 20 June
18:13
On the beach at Aberdaron, where we had a picnic for dinner.

Monday 20 June
18:35
Yatsey emmerges from the sea...

Monday 20 June
19:41
Some boats at Porth Meudwy near Aberdaron - the place the boat always used to go to Bardsey from.

Monday 20 June
19:43
Yates finding the sea is starting to get a bit cold!

Monday 20 June
19:57
Yates looking very regal with Dad.

Monday 20 June
20:04
A view over to Aberdaron.

Thursday 23 June
17:22
Yates in the back of the car!

Thursday 23 June
17:42
Dad went off to do a spot of fishing whilst me and Yates went to play on the beach.

Thursday 23 June
17:52
Yates fetching the ball from the sea.

Thursday 23 June
17:52
I was trying to get a picture of the sun glistening on the water here...

Thursday 23 June
18:21
Yates being very protective over his ball.

Thursday 23 June
18:33
More sun glistening on water...

Thursday 23 June
18:33
...and some very blue sky!

Thursday 23 June
19:04
Here's Dad fishing...

Thursday 23 June
19:06
It was a very nice spot where he had chosen to go fishing, really very relaxing...

Thursday 23 June
19:08
Same again really, but in landscape.

Thursday 23 June
19:13
Dad seems to have caught something - you can just see two fish dangling at the end of the line here!

Thursday 23 June
19:13
You can rest assured I supervised their safe return to the sea. This was an oddly wholesome experience...!

Friday 24 June
15:22
Here's the two Nicks putting the boat into the sea. I'm sure there's a more correct nautical term for this, but somehow launching doesn't seem quite right when it is reversed in off a trailer!

Friday 24 June
15:54
Out at sea now, where it was a bit choppy.

Friday 24 June
15:56
I found it was surprisingly hard to take any meaningful pictures from the boat, as when you were in it, you couldn't really see much of the boat itself, and obviously getting out of the boat whilst out at sea wasn't an option. So consequently we have a picture of some sea.

Friday 24 June
16:13
A view through the front windscreen.

Friday 24 June
16:58
We didn't stay out long as it was getting pretty choppy. So here's the fun of trying to get the boat back onto land at low tide, wading through the sludge composed of rotting fish and seaweed.

Friday 24 June
17:14
Looks like we've got the boat back onto the land then!

Friday 24 June
17:15
An illustrative picture of my feet, and the sludge I'd picked up in landing the boat...

Friday 24 June
17:22
....and the difference after having washed them!

Saturday 25 June
09:58
Janie and Yates wave us off at Porth Meudwy as Dad and I go off to spend a few hours on Bardsey.

Saturday 25 June
10:20
Taken from the boat, as Bardsey became visible round the headland.

Saturday 25 June
10:22
Bardsey in full view now as the boat was coming into the harbour.

Saturday 25 June
10:34
After getting off the boat, a picture of the harbour taken from the back of a tractor type thing.

Saturday 25 June
11:22
Over the other side of Bardsey from the harbour, near By Nant - lovely round here.

Saturday 25 June
11:22
Me and Dad sitting down in a spot where we spent a while messing about with mobile phones.

Saturday 25 June
11:37
By Nant again.

Saturday 25 June
11:51
One of the famous crosses.

Saturday 25 June
13:08
An odd hillside picture taken from Carreg.

Saturday 25 June
13:08
Dad doing the old favourite island chore - emptying the buckets from Ty Bach.

Saturday 25 June
13:32
A sheep!

Saturday 25 June
13:32
Two sheep. I feel they may be related...

Saturday 25 June
13:38
Seals in the harbour, a bit hard to see in this picture as always.

Saturday 25 June
13:39
The harbour and the lighthouse.

Saturday 25 June
14:43
Back on the mainland now, Dad wanted me to have a go at taking pictures of these flowers on the walk up to the car park from Porth Meudwy...

Saturday 25 June
14:43
...more flowers...

Saturday 25 June
14:43
...and more.

Sunday 26 June
11:06
We stopped off on the way down to Aberystwyth at this forest park near Dolgellau, which had this very pleasant river running through it.

Sunday 26 June
11:06
I love this kind of scenery, although it never comes out that well in photographs.

Sunday 26 June
11:12
You can lead a horse to water...

Sunday 26 June
11:13
Yates in the stream.

Sunday 26 June
12:33
A view of Aberystwyth, taken from up on the hill where the National Library of Wales is.

Sunday 26 June
14:31
We spent a while just up the coast at Borth, which has this lovely long beach. Unfortunately Yates was moving too quick for my camera so he is mostly out of shot!

Sunday 26 June
14:31
Yates and his personal photographer Martin.

Sunday 26 June
14:45
Beach and sky.

Sunday 26 June
14:45
More beach and sky, with my Dad in the corner.

Sunday 26 June
14:45
A groyne as well...

Sunday 26 June
15:22
Here's Dad smashing rocks (looking for crystals) and Yates looking on somewhat confused.

Sunday 26 June
15:22
Yates wondering if there was anything edible inside any of those rocks.

Sunday 26 June
15:27
Nice blue sky.

Sunday 26 June
15:27
Same thing in landscape.

Sunday 26 June
16:03
Martin, Lucy, Janie and Dad, sitting on a bench, having an ice cream. How British!

Sunday 26 June
16:04
Same thing again.

Sunday 26 June
16:05
I had a go at taking from underneath, to see if it gave a different perspective or something...

Sunday 26 June
17:42
A view of the seafront in Aberystwyth.

Sunday 26 June
19:41
On the way back up North, we stopped in a layby by the sea, and I unwisely thought it might be a good idea to take a picture directly into the sun.

Sunday 26 June
19:42
...that's a bit better I suppose. What a lovely road!
